Some of the designs in HRI’s new Aloha area rug collection are also available in accent dimensions.
New York – Partnering with the Sunbrella brand less than three years ago for an ongoing collection of outdoor-friendly area rugs has taught Harounian Rugs International something valuable.
“Our customers love our indoor/outdoor performance rugs,” noted Lee Harounian, principal. “And we’re expanding our line to bring them more.”
For this season, that translates to new design additions to both its Sunbrella program and its in-house assortment, including private label patterns for specific customers.

Harounian Rugs’ market week introductions will be ready for delivery in December for January and February selling.
“We’re introducing more promotional products, more machinemades that offer performance characteristics,” he went on.
To the Sunbrella program, the company is adding four new collections made of Sunbrella’s solution-dyed acrylic fibers, which are specially treated for resistance to staining and fading.
“The product is guaranteed for five years,” Harounian added.
To its house line of indoor/outdoor rugs, HRI is adding several collections, among them the tropical Aloha grouping of patterns.
Most of the new rugs are in area rug sizes, but some designs also come in accent dimensions.
Harounian said this Market’s introductions will be ready for delivery in December, “which is perfect for January and February selling.”
HRI will also be presenting several new indoor rug styles machine-made of polyester, and available for private label programs, during the home textiles show in New York this week.
“We’re expecting a strong market,” he summed. “We have many more scheduled appointments this time than we had over the past two years, which is why we are bringing much more newness this Market.”
Harounian Rugs International’s New York City showroom is located at 104 W. 29th St., between 6th and 7th Avenues.
